Verdict

NORTH WALK did it easily last time and is fancied to win again at the main expense of General Mayo, Papuan Prince and Bet Noir. The interesting pair is Tim Vaughan's duo; Papuan Prince was far from disgraced at Hereford last time and must be of interest, although if the rain makes the going testing then he is not a guaranteed stayer. On the other hand General Mayo, a former Irish point-to-pointer, may relish a test of stamina as he seemed to find things happening a bit too quick last time out at Uttoxeter. However we prefer the claims of North Walk who provided Tony McCoy with an armchair ride last time out at Market Rasen and although he has a penalty for that win he should run another big race. Bold Policy tries cheek-pieces as he returns to hurdles following a fruitless spell over fences, Bet Noir made a decent start over hurdles when second to Boogie Dancer at Newton Abbott, whilst Ladette To Lady has shown less talent than many on the tv program of the same name. An open race, where the betting will help, however it is North Walk who is marginally preferred.
