Verdict

GENEROUS CHIEF is a dour stayer and should be all the better for last month’s second at Huntingdon, his first run since October – the booking of Richard Johnson is an obvious plus. Reverting to hurdles, Sun Cloud ended his long losing run at Perth last month and rates a big danger only 4lb higher. Stay Out Of Court didn’t have much luck last season and should be winning sooner rather than later while Horace Hazel isn’t badly treated on his best form. First Fandango can’t get much lower in the weights and his rider takes off a further 7lb so he could be a threat if allowed to poach a lead on this sharp track but Crown Hill may be in the handicapper’s grip now.
