In depth

LOOSE CHIPS has to be fancied to reverse last month's course running with Five Rivers on 7lb better terms and can land this for Charlie Longsdon, who has a good strike rate with his hurdlers here. Thanks For Coming must be a danger as he's been quite highly tried since winning at Sandown in December. The same can also be said of Double Ross, who contested a Grade 1 at the Cheltenham Festival. Saint Roque still has scope for improvement but Minella Bliss has become disappointing and this may be too tough for Sainglend, despite a decent run in a hot handicap at Haydock last time.

Double Ross (IRE) 33-1 (11-7) Mid-division, jumped left and mistake 1st, lost place after 3 out, no impression after, 8th of 17, 37l behind Simonsig (11-7) at Cheltenham 2m 5f nov hdl Grade 1 (1) gd in Mar.

Five Rivers (IRE) 6-4fav (11-1) Led to after 3rd, tracked leader, led again 3 out, hard pressed next, soon ridden, 1 length clear when not fluent last, held on under pressure flat, won at Stratford 2m 3f nh nov hdl (4) gd in Mar beating Loose Chips (11-8) by 3/4l, 8 ran.

Loose Chips 10-3 (11-8) Keen early, tracked leaders, went 2nd after 3 out, ridden to challenge next, kept on and every chance last, held towards finish, 2nd of 8, 3/4l behind Five Rivers (11-1) at Stratford 2m 3f nh nov hdl (4) gd in Mar.

Sainglend 20-1 (10-2) Tracked leaders, not fluent 3rd, ridden 3 out, weakened flat, 8th of 20, 13l behind Hada Men (10-8) at Haydock 2m 4f hcp hdl (2) gd.
