PERCY’S WORD has finished second four times over 2m and was only beaten a neck over 2m4f last time at Uttoxeter. This intermediate distance should suit the Skelton runner, who can finally get his head in front. He is rated 6lb higher than Flat winner Edinburgh Castle, who has placed in all four starts over timber but looks one-paced. Sir Canford has shown ability and is fit from the Flat while Catbird Seat still had every chance when falling at the last at Uttoxeter, despite showing obvious signs of inexperience. Ottavio also warrants a mention.
