Verdict

Spectator was in good form in the spring but is having a first run since May and is possibly a few pounds too high. Auld Sod makes his handicap debut but was a 100/1 chance when a close third in a Newton Abbot maiden and it may not pay to take that form too literally. Cleni Wells is undoubtedly well treated but he’s not been at his best this summer while Salto Chisco was well beaten reverting to hurdles at Newton Abbot. CHIEFTAIN’S CHOICE is another very well handicapped on his best form and he produced a better effort at Market Rasen 10 days ago so gets the vote, though Exitas and Cillian's Well do go well here.
