In depth

Verdict

In a race that will not take too much winning, From This Moment can prove the best of Paul Nicholls' two newcomers, while Hawk's Landing and Vicar's Lad are worth a second look. With those to have already returned to the fray having shown little, it may pay to concentrate on the more unexposed talent in the line-up. From This Moment is out of an Over The River mare so should be up to staying a trip, and although having already won an Irish point-to point, is still seen as a big baby. The Sir Robert Ogden-owned Edition Francaise also won an Irish point-to-point for Ted Walsh in the spring and is seen as a novice chasing sort. Both have the scope to make their mark this season, while Hawk's Landing and Vicar's Lad hail from in-form stables and should be monitored in the market. Christmas Truce is another who returns to action here along with Glashedy Rock, and again both should be watched. With so many ifs and buts, bets should be kept to a minimum, but From This Moment is well thought of and gets a tentative vote.
