Verdict
Melekhov, a dual bumper winner, started a short-priced favourite for his hurdling debut at Bangor in October but found the ground too quick and can do better. However, it will take a good performance to see off the four-year-old SCARAMANGA, who should now be at his peak after two runs over hurdles, the latest when just failing to hold the strong-finishing Airton over the track and trip last month. Winning point-to-pointer Stream Lady has yet to make her mark over timber and is likely to need further in time while her stable companion Little Red Lion was well beaten on his hurdling bow at Chepstow.
