In depth
Verdict
A weak contest to start the card and we will give a narrow vote to A Double Ewe Bee, Noble Billy and Shalati Princess look to be the main rivals. Bill Turner's six-year-old ran well off a mark of 89 last season and does at least have winning form in this grade. She looked in need of her recent spin around Fakenham and strip a lot fitter this afternoon. The Pipe trained Noble Billy has to be a threat returning to hurdling after a couple of poor efforts over fences. He reached a mark of 112 over the smaller obstacles so does have obvious claims in this company. Shalati Princess put in her best performance to date when third behind Temper Lad in a selling handicap last time but it was off a mark of just 75 and she needs to improve further. The rest make little appeal and so we return to A Double Ewe Bee as the likely winner.
