Verdict

Fairly low grade stuff. Paul Nicholls' saddles topweight DB My Son on his first bow in this country. His best form in Ireland was on a faster surface and we will watch him (and the market) with interest. Gayling doesn't look to be one of Philip Hobbs' stable stars but the trainer has a good record at the track and it would not be wholly impossible that she could be good enough. Canyoubatim and Shemardi have done their best work on faster surfaces and are opposed. Kansas City is given as the selection at minimal stakes. She showed enough at Sedgefield to suggest that a minor race would be hers if the jumping holds itself together.
