In depth

Verdict

Reverse Swing is a confident selection ahead of Alcatras and Presenting Express. Heather Dalton's charge won as she liked when landing a Fakenham contest last Thursday afternoon. She was never put under too much in the way of pressure but the further she went, the better she became. The mare looks exceedingly well handicapped and should be able to land this under a 7lb penalty. She holds Mick Devine on that line on form. Alcatras has reportedly suffered with a vertebrae problem and made a successful reappearance at Fontwell last week. His jumping was much better on this occasion although those who subscribe to the "bounce" theory may well cross him off their lists. Presenting Express was out of sorts last term but he was good enough to win a race at Folkestone last month off a mark of 80. The form was let down by Lizzie Bathwick on Boxing Day so the gathering of some market intelligence is recommended. Bodiddley is surely much better than his most recent effort suggests and similar comments apply. Kimono Royal is respected given Alan King's form in recent days. He would not want too much in the way of overnight rain. A fascinating affair on balance as there appears to be a number of potentially well handicapped sorts. Reverse Swing certainly caught our eye last time and we will not oppose her this time around.
