An interesting mares event to start and DOLLY PENROSE is the pick ahead of Asturienne and Dot's Delight. This is a step up in grade for Chris Down's charge but with her hailing from an unfashionable yard, we are hopeful of getting a price about her chances. A modest stayer on the flat, her dam has a top class hurdler on her day so it should have been no surprise to see her daughter inherit some of those genes. Asturienne represents a yard that have enjoyed particular success in this sphere. Her breeding suggests that faster ground may be a little more preferable to the soft she experiences on this occasion. Dot's Delight was poor on the flat but seems a different character completely over hurdles. If she stays today's trip, she has to be a player. Gan On won well at Plumpton though struggled against better opposition at Ascot. Misstree Dancer finished a long way behind our selection when they last met though it would be no surprise to see Nick Mitchell eek out some improvement from somewhere. She's On The Case caught the eye with a solid win in a Fontwell bumper and is one to note at longer odds. Sordid Secret was a tad disappointing on rules debut having won in points previously. Tara Isle was well backed on debut and while showing nothing on that day, it would be folly to discount her given the money that was seen beforehand. Dolly Penrose looks an exciting recruit and she can win what is an above average race of its type.
