Verdict
Ile Michel makes the journey up from West Sussex with a leading chance of beating the local hope Freya's Dream, with Sea Storm and Quito very likely to play a part in proceedings as well. Lady Herries' six-year-old saw his unbeaten three-race run come to an end at Goodwood when suffering all the bad luck going. Drawn poorly in stall one, he was knocked all over the place in the scrimmage when the pace quickened and was finishing best of all. That run suggests that the son of Machiavellian, part-owned by racing pundit Julian Wilson, is still well treated on his current rating of 82. Seb Sanders gets on well with Ile Michel who does sometimes need a bit of rousting, and he can get back to winning ways at the expense of Freya's Dream who, like her main rival, will relish the fast ground. A winner on the track, she served notice of better to come when fourth in a decent handicap at Doncaster recently, and her stable had a big-priced winner at Newmarket at the weekend. Quito looks held by Freya's Dream on earlier form, but was unlucky not to win last time, while Sea Storm has more to do than when successful on Lingfield's Polytrack in the winter.
