    Verdict

Not the best maiden to open the card with and this looks to rest between Perlachy and Palo Verde, and we take the latter to score. The Mark Johnston-trained Palo Verde put up a decent debut on firm ground at Ayr, on that occasion over 6f, before dropping back to the minimum to good effect last time at Pontefract. On that occasion he looked to have really got the hang of things and he can improve again to take this. Perlachy has more experience than our choice, and should have plenty of speed. He is likely to try and make all, but has not quite seen any of his races out yet and is opposed. Obe Royal disappointed last time and has a bit to prove now, while Mambo Spirit will need to come on plenty for his debut to trouble our selection here, and that's Palo Verde.
