In depth

Verdict

CASTLEHILL RETREAT was doing his best work in the closing stages over the minimum trip at Hamilton and this extra furlong will suit Ben Haslam’s colt on that evidence. He’s preferred to Rich Belief while the remainder make their racecourse debuts. Of those, Governor Of Punjab is related to no less than six winners and can figure for Mark Johnston while Ardenlee Star represents another powerful northern yard but has a middle-distance pedigree. John Quinn’s yard is in good form so Rebel Redemption is another worth a second glance along with the speedily-bred Tiltilys Rock.
