    Verdict

Everything points to a big run from RED CAPE with Leonid Glow and the unexposed Beat Baby amongst others that could take a hand. Ruth Carr has her horses in good order and it would be no surprise if Red Cape has had this race as his target given that he landed this prize last year. He was racing from a 10lb lower mark on that occasion but has proved competitive from higher marks than today's in the interim and ran his best race for some time under this jockey at Epsom last time. Discanti will find this easier than the race that he contested last time and runs this track well but he'll need a career best to score from his current perch as will Leonid Glow who is yet another with sound form claims. Beat Baby has far more to prove than that trio but there was plenty to like about his performance in a Hamilton maiden although it wasn't the strongest of races and the handicapper appears to have erred on the side of caution. Cases can be made for a good many more as one would expect but Red Cape is taken to complete a famous double.
