Verdict

This is wide open, and with 18 scheduled starters there should be some each-way value to be found, but to win it we'll side with MISS SCARLET, who can expect challenges from Diamond Daisy and Victorian Tycoon. Kevin Ryan often does well here, and of the trio named, Miss Scarlet is the lowest drawn which should be a help. She's been off the track since last summer and this is her handicap debut, but given that she's less exposed than most here, there could be more improvement to come. It's a step up in trip after previously running over five and six furlongs, but that looks to be a positive. Diamond Daisy has been second on both her runs this year, and was a little unlucky at Wolverhampton last time out. As a two year old she was disappointing but is now showing signs of getting to grips with the game. Victorian Tycoon is another who should win a race at this level sooner rather than later; runner up in three of his eight outings to date, the step back down in trip is a positive. The yard's yet to have a winner this season though. Sampower carol is one of the few to have won before, that was last time out in the autumn on her nursery debut, but over slightly shorter and when there was some juice in the ground. This isn't a race that's going to take much winning, and for us is a bit of a pin-stickers, our support goes with Miss Scarlet.
