        Verdict

        One of the recent maiden winners may come out best in this. But Golden Spun had shown little before scoring at Carlisle a fortnight ago and Star Cracker never figured here before winning over 5f at Beverley. TWILIGHT SON makes more appeal having made a winning start over today's trip at Salisbury last month and he gets the nod. Firgrove Bridge and Eastern Racer are closely matched at the weights but Just The Tip is 7lb higher than his earlier handicap victory at Carlisle.
