Verdict

Thunder Bay gets the nomination in the opener with Rievaulx Valentino and Mystickhill rated as the main dangers. The selection made a winning debut at Lingfield before running a sound race last time at Newcastle when he chased home Mister Hardy. He missed the break that day which probably cost him the race and it will be a surprise if he is not able to make amends this afternoon. Rievaulx Valentino is a well-bred newcomer from the Kevin Ryan yard and as his juveniles have already been amongst the winners this season he has to be considered. Mystickhill has shown ability in both of her runs to date but she will need to find a little improvement if she is trouble our selection today. Geordie Girl is a newcomer and unless the market speaks in her favour she is probably best watched here. Thunder Bay is a likeable colt and we take him to flash home in the opener.
