        Verdict

        Barney McGrew is the most consistent at this level though it's been over two years now since he last got his head in front. Lost In Paris scored at Catterick last time but he'd prefer faster ground while Haajes' best effort this year came with a 7lb claimer on board. DEFENCE COUNCIL has just the one victory to his name but finished ahead of the latter at Ripon last time and Paul Hanagan's presence takes the eye. He gets a tentative vote in a wide-open sprint with Dispol Grand and Fear Nothing making most appeal of the remainder.
