In depth

Verdict

A'shamardi folded tamely at Newmarket on last month’s debut though is not completely written off with the Crisford’s yard in such outstanding form. But POLAR APPEAL looks the safer proposition given the Haggas colt finished a decent fourth at Headquarters on a recent debut and should be bang there at the finish with normal progress. Daniel Deronda looks next best of those with experience having undergone wind surgery since struggling at Doncaster while Segla, a half-brother to winners in France, is preferred to Garden Paradise of the newcomers.
