Verdict

ALLAHO announced his presence at the top table when beating smart stablemate Elimay in this last year. He went to Cheltenham and landed the Ryanair very easily before runner-up to Chacun Pour Soi in the Champion Chase at Punchestown where the trip will have been too short. He led until left clear when the unfortunate Asterion Forlonge departed three out in the John Durkan last month and had enough in the tank to repel Janidil and Melon with today's rival Fakir D'Oudairies beaten a total of eight lengths. The latter has twice finished a long way in front of Notebook after being beaten narrowly by Henry De Bromhead's charge in a Grade 1 novices' chase at Leopardstown just over two years ago. Battleoverdoyen is a Grade 1 winner over hurdles and fences and is by no means out of this.
