Verdict

This is a very stiff test for juveniles but it shouldn't be a problem for VILMAN, who was staying on behind the classy Ol' Man River over a mile at the Curragh in August and the winner's subsequent Group 2 victory gives the form a massive boost. Aidan O'Brien, who has won three of the four renewals of this, is represented by the Monjeu colt Ivanovich Gorbatov, who has an entry in the Racing Post Trophy so must be well regarded. Jim Bolger quickly reaches for the blinkers on Selskar Abbey, who looks certain to improve for his opening run at Leopardstown while Intense Pride showed potential in the Super Auction Sales race over 6f at the Curragh. Chaplin Bay cost 180,000gns and is closely related to some smart performers so is one to watch in the market.
