In depth

Verdict

MAGNOLIA RIDGE has looked as though he's been crying out for this trip after staying on over shorter and gets the vote over the Ballydoyle newcomer Army Ranger, who like the selection is another son of Galileo. He cost 200,000gns and makes a belated racecourse debut so is obviously one to keep an eye on in the betting. It's difficult to get excited about the remainder and useful hurdler Pink Coat is probably warming up for a spell of summer jumping.
