In depth

Fred Winter winner Aramax was in touch for a long way on his chasing debut at Galway and will do better while Exit Poll, a maiden hurdle winner in January, only got as far as the first on his chasing debut at Punchestown last week. Rebel Gold scored over hurdles on the latter track last month while Unexcepted's victory over hurdles on testing ground at Fairyhouse last November has been given a boost by runner-up Jason The Militant. CAPTAIN GUINNESS made a very impressive hurdling debut at Navan in December before just outpaced by Andy Dufresne in a Punchestown Grade 2. He was unlucky to be brought down two out in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham when there with every chance and has all the attributes to make a classy chaser. Soviet Pimpernel was well beaten in the latter event but has won a Grade 3 at Limerick on his previous start.
