Verdict

Crecerelle started odds-on for a soft-ground maiden at Roscommon but couldn't quite hold on and was passed in the closing stages by Ace Combat and tonight's rival FREETOWN. The runner-up was having his first start in a year and with that under his belt can go one better. The winner is trained by Joseph O'Brien who has Stella d'Oro entered here. A son of Sea The Stars he made a very encouraging debut at Dundalk last month and will undoubtedly improve for the experience. City Ballerina had looked a certain future winner earlier in the summer and wasn't right at Down Royal while Jim Bolger's Galileo filly Gallitea is related to a host of winners and is one to keep an eye on.
