In depth

Verdict

RIVEN LIGHT (NAP) has been in excellent form, landing a premier handicap at Galway then not getting the run of the race in a similar event there a few days later. He looks to have the scope to do better and has a Group 3 entry at Dundalk next month. Aussie Valentine hasn't won since April 2015 though has performed with credit at a high level but Captain Joy, 9-19 on the all-weather, is 0-20 on Turf. Herald The Dawn won a Group 2 as a juvenile but hasn't recaptured his form after a long absence and the three-year-old Gold Spinner was a long way behind the selection at Galway.
