In depth
Verdict
It is hard to get away from Inch Pride in this race, with Mariella looking the most obvious danger. The Martin Pipe-trained selection won a bumper in Ireland before joining the champion trainer and then scooted up at Folkestone on her British debut. She left a very good impression on that occasion and looks the one to beat here. The Italian winner, Mariella, has to be of interest from the Christian von der Recke stable, while Grey Mistral seems sure to improve on her hurdling debut behind Napolitain. Petite Salou has shown promise in novice events but it is hard to build a strong case for the others, which returns us to Inch Pride, who looks to hold very good claims indeed in this race.
