Verdict
Waltham Abbey is given a chance to redeem himself at the expense of Ballyboley and American Cricket. The selection was a little disappointing when beaten at Wetherby on his most recent start but his style of front-running could suit here and we recommend accordingly. Ballyboley has recorded plenty of second places in his career thus far and despite this worrying statistic, he has to be afforded maximum respect at this level. American Cricket steps up in trip following a winning debut under rules. That said, he was placed in an Irish point so the distance should not be a problem. Nanny's Gift may have been flattered by her recent second placing but shapes as if she might see out the trip. Cardinal Spirit has to be watched in the market as his yard have been in reasonable form over the last couple of months. Posh Act fell when well backed at the course on his most recent visit. That betting information could be particularly relevant as the punters had allowed him to go off at 100/1 on his previous starts. Olympian won on the flat in France and makes a British debut for Charlie Longsdon. A competitive opener and Waltham Abbey is given one more chance.
