In depth

Verdict

This looks to be an excellent opportunity for Marodima to get his nose in front again, with Bonnet's Pieces capable of making the frame and Petit Turk another to consider. The selection simply has the best form on offer here, acts with cut in the ground and possesses the necessary stamina to land his first win since obliging at Chepstow in November. This is a poor contest and he should prove very tough to beat. Bonnet's Pieces is another who likes to get her toe in and enjoys it around this stiff track. However, she has been even more one-paced than usual in recent times and it would be a bit of a surprise if she were quite good enough to score here. Little else makes any appeal although Petit Turk comes from an in-form yard who are likely to get a fair bit of improvement from his first outing so watch the market for clues, but we are happy to side with Marodima to take the opener.
