Verdict
Halland can break his duck here although First Boy and Him Of Distinction provide decent opposition. Halland finished second to I Cried For You in the Cambridgeshire when with Geoff Wragg and while some have said that it is a little late in the day to go hurdling, he did not do too much wrong when finishing second to Belcaro on his debut. First Boy belied odds of 66/1 to finish second to Jonanaud at Chepstow. Compensation awaits the former German flat performer if he reproduces that effort. Him of Distinction had smart flat form for John Dunlop and is now in the care of Richard Philips. Whether a drop back to two miles will suit is something of an imponderable given that he seems the sort who would prefer a trip. Amir Zaman has been in fair form on the all-weather over stayers trips while Tiger Tips Lad hails from a yard that appear in good form at the moment. Halland is nominated in the opener.
