In depth

Verdict

The weights suggest that he faces a tough task but CELEBRITY CALL could be the one to take the limelight with Stance, Black Mogul and Badly Bruised amongst the dangers. The booking of Tony McCoy certainly takes the eye as did the performance of the Oliver Sherwood trained gelding at Plumpton where he chased home the progressive Cross Kennon. He drops back in trip but that latest start was a welcome return to form and he may be able to build on it. Black Mogul has been struggling to make his mark in handicaps lately but this drop in grade could see him become competitive and he has claims at the weights as does Stance who has been in good form in this grade this year. The application of blinkers enabled Badly Bruised to run a better race at Southwell where he chased home the gambled on Flaming Cheek and both are considered along with Tooka who narrowly landed a claimer at this track last time but this could be another one for McCoy who's aboard Celebrity Call.
