    Verdict

MALLUSK is the call with Wild Bay and Calypso Bay on the shortlist. Kim Bailey's gelding won well at Uttoxeter on debut though was outclassed at Wincanton on bottomless going. The form of that victory looks solid in the context of this race, and having had time off the track, his relative freshness can count for plenty. Wild Bay represents the resurgent yard of Nick Gifford. Well beaten on his only previous sighter on the racecourse, his breeding suggests that he will have needed all the time in the interim. Calypso Bay is a debutant for Jonjo O'Neill. A good looking sort, he proved a tad disappointing for Jeremy Noseda having shaped well on the flat in a decent Chester maiden behind Harbinger. Drumshambo seems to appreciate very soft ground and while disposing of Braveheart Move at Bangor; he was well held next time out at Sandown. Converti is surprisingly dropped in trip whilst Another Minx has little to recommend on what we have seen so far. Mallusk appears the safest option on paper.
