In depth

Verdict

A strong event for the time of year but there are a few questions for the field to answer so we'll stick with Andrew Nick who has less to prove than most. He does have a penalty to carry for his win at Perth and is dropping back in trip this evening but the stiff track should negate the latter and he's likely to have plenty of use made of him. He'll have no problem with the ground and has run well here in a bumper and has solid claims. Equity Release has run some decent races but went out like a light at Ascot last time. He's been well backed in some fair races and probably has enough ability to win a race like this if all is well. Fine Parchment has claims on the form of his latest run, a case can be made for Vilcabamba on his bumper form and Tide Slider has also done enough to suggest that he can win a race or two but, on this occasion, we prefer the claims of Andrew Nick.
