In depth

Verdict

Eric The Third was a wide-margin winner over fences at Newton Abbot last month and, only 2lb higher, has every chance of victory here if transferring that form back to the smaller obstacles. Thames Knight’s supporters will be hoping for a good run from Celestial path in the first division but ANTON DOLIN and Lewis Stones have been threatening to win one of these lately and their turn may have come around. Intifadah wasn’t beaten far on his first run for Dan Skelton and should be winning soon while veteran Mighty Whitey and Hey Bob also have a squeak.
