In depth
Verdict
Bennys Mist ran with the choke out at Exeter on Tuesday but still won with the proverbial ton in hand. A 7lb penalty here shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience here but the concession of 29lb to THEMANFROMFRAAM may be. Susan Johnson has been very clever in her placing of the 10-year-old and, though 6lb higher than when a close second at Stratford on his return to action, can find enough to take this. First-time blinkers would need to spark a revival in Lady Ida for her to figure while Royaume Bleu remains a maiden under Rules and is having his first run over hurdles for more than a year.
