Verdict

DEFINING YEAR emerged from the doldrums in emphatic fashion the last day when cruising home over course and distance and is taken to follow up now he's found the winning habit. The significant drop down to the minimum trip appeared to spark the improvement and he should prove more than good enough to supplement gains under similar conditions. He was a fair sort back in the day for Dermot Weld. Anton Dolin is a quirky sort to say the least but he's more than useful in this grade on a going day and it would not surprise to see him on the premises. He usually arrives travelling well in his races. Maoi Chinn Tire has fair prospects but an eye must be kept on Sky of Stars. He's shown little or nothing over timber but has now joined rookie trainer Olly Murphy and the champion jockey is booked. Track him carefully in the market.
