In depth

Verdict

Flying Falcon was the pick of these over hurdles, already looks the best over fences, judged by successes in his last two starts at Chepstow and Carlisle and he is taken to give Venetia Williams another winner, getting the verdict ahead of Chaninbar and Scaramouche. The last mentioned would have claims on the pick of his form but Ben de Haan's gelding has disappointed in his last two starts and he looks best watched at present. Supreme Leisure has gone steadily downhill in the last two seasons and is hard to back with confidence. Thegalleryman and Making Overtures would need to improve on all known form to trouble the judge and of more interest may be Chaninbar, who had every chance before falling two out at Doncaster two starts ago and has had a confidence boosting round since then. Flying Falcon should be tough to beat though and he is preferred.
