Verdict
Geordie Des Champs is penalised for a course and distance victory 12 days ago so conceding weight to younger rivals, though none of the others have seen action recently. Kannapolis tries a new trip and has been absent since April but Copper Coin goes well fresh as he was a winner here on his reappearance last season, though is still 6lb higher. A winner at Market Rasen in the spring, POUNDING POET was only fourth here in June but had his route blocked when trying for an ambitious run up the rails in the closing stages. He should reverse that form with Geordie Des Champs on 5lb better terms.
