Verdict

We end on another watch the market race and in anticipation of it, SHEER GENIUS makes most appeal with Gortenbuie and Laureldean River worthy of closer examination. The selection was a relatively cheap purchase at the sales but he is related to plenty of winners and showed well on debut at Cork under forcing tactics. Gortenbuie represents a yard not necessarily noted for their bumper runners though in fairness, they have already hit the mark earlier in the month. If the money is seen in the ring, it should not be ignored. Laureldean River represents relatively unfashionable connections so could be a fair price. He was a winner of a Stradbally point and is making a rules debut today. Future Vision was easy to back at this course on debut and does not look to be one of the stable stars at Jonjo O'Neill's. Dune Shine is a half brother to the useful handicap chaser, Capiroska. He may just need further than this before we see him at his best. With little form to go on, we stick with the proven racecourse evidence shown by Sheer Genius.
