Tir Gra stepped up on point-to-point form when making a winning rules debut at Market Rasen last month but this looks tough for Alison Thorpe's gelding and preference is for another pointing recruit TARABLAZE, who gets the verdict ahead of Tisfreetdream. The last mentioned has had plenty of chances but the seven-year-old has shown improved form of late and has to be considered on his 22nd start. Winning pointer Cootehill made a pleasing start to his career under rules when fourth behind Nikos Extra at Market Rasen last month on his first start for Nigel Twiston-Davies and he makes more appeal than recent course winner Thumbprint, who may struggle under his penalty. Sue Smith's Little Big Horse has shown much improved form over fences since last being seen over hurdles and he could be of interest back over timber in this company. The vote though goes to Tarablaze, who has shown a decent level of form from limited opportunities in point-to-points and he is taken to make a winning start under rules for Philip Hobbs.
