While not as good as he was three years ago, Barneys Lyric has solid claims in this moderate company and gets the vote to go one better than in similar grade over course and distance last time and is preferred to You'vegotmerocking and Seymour Weld. The last mentioned made an encouraging return in a selling handicap here last time and has to be respected on that evidence. Evan Williams has his string in good form now so it will be interesting to see what Alujawill achieves on his first start over hurdles, although he is hard to recommend on flat form. Don McCain's Athoss starts his career at the lowest level and may not amount to a great deal and of more interest may be You'vegotmerocking. The Ian Williams-trained gelding beat the selection by a neck here last time and has to be respected but is now 7lbs worse off with Barneys Lyric, who is taken to reverse that form and go one better here.
