In depth
Verdict
Purrfect Prince may be the best of Jonjo O'Neill's two newcomers, and can pop in at the first time of asking over Flight Command and Irish Flight. It is anybody's guess as to which of the Jackdaw Castle inmates is the most talented, and they are both in the same ownership, but Purrfect Prince, by Commanche Run out of a Mandalus mare, has by all accounts been working well enough at home to warrant support. Flight Command was successful at Perth on his debut, coming through late to score when unfancied in the ring. He is seen as more of a chasing type and might find one or two a bit speedy here with his penalty. Noel Chance has a terrific record in bumpers so any support for Irish Flight should be noted. He too looks destined for a future over the bigger obstacles on breeding, but might be good enough for a place at least. However, it would not surprise us in the least if Jonjo O'Neill provided a one-two here, with Purrfect Prince and Pure Platinum.
