Verdict
Topweight L'Epicurien has been off the track since June and with fitness unlikely to be a problem has to be respected off just a 2lb higher mark than when successful at Newton Abbot the previous month. He looks the stable first string over Iorana, who looks plenty high enough in the weights at present. With Paul Webber's horses continuing to run flat, Abalvino is probably best watched, as is Lambrini Gold who ran as though something was amiss at Aintree last time. Black Bullet is on a hat-trick following wins at Newcastle and Haydock but a 9lb rise for the latest of those successes and stiffer company may be his undoing. The selection then is the Venetia Williams-trained Jarro, who has lost little in defeat behind Ei Ei and Ivanoph in two starts this term. The son of Pistolet Bleu will not find any gamer rivals than those two here and he can gain a well deserved first success of the season.
