In depth

Verdict

Plenty with claims in this modest handicap with Escardo likely to appreciate the quicker ground having finished second in his last three starts. Esteem has fallen to a decent mark but is struggling for form at present, while Daneva has only managed one win in 36 career starts and was a long way behind Carleton Place at Hereford earlier this month. Jawhary is tried in a visor and has a bit to find but Sheepclose was only beaten a head at Huntingdon last time and it would be no surprise to see a big run from Tahiti Pearl following a break. PUMBOO won this last year and loves the fast ground. He is fancied to reverse Cartmel running in June with Mysterious World and double up.
