Verdict

From a shortlist containing Honor And Glory, Dr Mann and Southerndown, we will side with Honor And Glory. Much as it is difficult to evaluate Honor And Glory's Lingfield win, he is lightly raced and entitled to open to further improvement. As such, he is entitled to respect today. Despite having been raised eight pounds for his March Chepstow win, River Of Light holds claims in what is a modest event, and he may have needed his recent disappointing run. Full On ran well here a year ago from a 10-pound higher mark and those are credentials that mean he should be given some thought here. A repeat of his Wetherby second in January would give Lost In Normandy a chance, while the lightly raced Dr Mann comes here on the back of a good Lingfield run so is another to consider. Southerndown has gone well over course and distance from today's mark, and Dickie Lewis can be fancied on his hurdling form but his chasing efforts have yet to match it. Once again, then, the selection is Honor And Glory.
