Verdict
This is a real pin-stickers, but with 20 scheduled to go to post there'll certainly be some each-way value around, and we'll tentatively side with GREEN 'N' GOLD, in preference to likely market Leader Youngstown and Midnight Diamond. Previously with Donald McCain, but now with local trainer Barry Leavy, the filly had 18 months off the track, but if fit she should certainly be involved and could land it at a price. She's the only course and distance winner in the field, and it was a stamina sapper then too. She's also handled plenty of cut when winning elsewhere, and has plenty of weight in hand with some of her rivals. Youngstown's price may not be that appealing in such a large field, given that he's lightly raced, but he is showing some gradual improvement over hurdles, and should cope with the ground. Midnight Diamond's not won for nearly two years, but has ability when the going gets tough. Having a three pound claimer on board keeps him competitive. It's a wide open race, but if everything goes right and she's ready, it could be a winning return for Green 'n' Gold.
