In depth

Verdict

A return to winning ways for Parsnip Pete at Aintree was not entirely unexpected and he has the ground in his favour again. Mark Walford's chasers do well here and Oliver's Gold, who had a spin on the Flat recently, won at Wetherby and Ayr last year so could be interesting. But though Turn Over Sivola is consistent he struggles to get his head in front and Ink Master jumped poorly when backed to complete his hat-trick at Warwick last time. NICOLAS CHAUVIN was rated 132 over hurdles but gets in here off a mark of 127 despite opening his account over fences at Huntingdon last month. That means he gets a massive 18lb from impressive Worcester winner Sharp Rise, though Charlie Longsdon's top weight has a terrific strike rate over the larger obstacles and should make a bold bid.
