In depth

Verdict

Pure guesswork at this stage in a field of newcomers but Peter Bowen does enjoy a good record in bumpers of 43-196 in the last five years for a 22% strike rate. BEREA VENTURE and King Of All Kings represent the yard and the former, a son of Indian Danehill who has produced some useful jumping sorts, is the preference in a contest where the market should prove instructive. The Best yard, 3-34 in bumpers in the past five years, field Generous Jack with AP McCoy aboard and the Generous gelding obviously requires a market check. Patrick Chamings and Lucy Jones have no winners in such contests in the past five years but Buckled and Tobefair are worth a second look for their respective yards with Sam Twiston-Davies and Richard Johnson bookings of interest.
