Verdict
The final race on the card can go to Charlies Double ahead of Vicentio, Supreme Return and Noble Spy, with Arctic Glow also worth a mention. Charlies Double was successful last time out when beating La Concha at Fakenham, the key being the first try on a fast surface. He won readily under David Crosse and this lightly-raced individual is open to more improvement so gets the vote. Vicentio stayed on well when beating Dunkerron at Warwick, and so there is no reason why he should fail on a stamina score. Before we get carried away however, his success was gained from out of the handicap in a race in which there were lots of defections due to the fast ground. His earlier win at Fakenham in November was against selling platers as well, but having said all that, he lines up in form and will bounce off the ground. Andrew Tinkler rode the gelding on his first two racecourse appearances, and so will know what to expect. Supreme Return did not get the best of runs two out at Wincanton and is another to consider, but he has topweight to overcome, while Noble Spy is fully exposed at the age of 11 and has been pointing. Arctic Glow is nicely weighted and should be up to being involved in a race of this nature, but has been absent since March, and so the fitter Charlies Double looks the one to be on.
