OSCAR MAGUIRE (NAP) was hit by an 11lb hike in the weights for winning decisively here in July. He hasn’t raced since but the booking of Richard Johnson suggests this improving stayer is fancied to defy the extra and a lay-off. Only a head separated Jimmy Bell and Mr Washington at Warwick but the former is expected to come out on top again here. Aniknam was second last time at Hexham but Aengus needs some help from the handicapper. Simply Lucky pops up now and again and Mike Sowerby’s charge is worth a market check.
